About your Practitioner
First, I’d like to thank you for visiting Valley Chronic Pain online and taking the time to learn more about me.

My name is Pamela Kososki, licensed acupuncturist. I’ve lived here in Wisconsin almost my entire life. I grew up in Waukesha, a county just west of Milwaukee, and ventured up to the beautiful Fox Valley about 10 years ago after a brief stay in Chicago’s NW Suburbs.

Why acupuncture/Chinese medicine?
I’d been in sales for most of my adult life and decided to make a career change and live the “stress-free” life of a massage therapist, after a series of panic attacks. While attending massage school, I was introduced to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Prior to that, I’d never experienced it or even known anyone who’d tried it. I just knew it involved needles and that it seemed, quite frankly, a little weird and new-agey. After that brief introduction to it in a weekend seminar though, I began researching and knew that it was the career path I was destined to take. I was amazed with the effectiveness this medicine had to correct ailments we’ve learned to simply just take prescription medications for – as if that was the only option. Things like anxiety, high blood pressure, blood sugar and insulin imbalances, depression, ADHD, even seasonal allergies, and it’s been proven to work for numerous other things.

I worked as a massage therapist while in graduate school pursuing my Oriental Medicine degree. Working as a massage therapist in a chiropractor’s office, most of my clients were seeing me for some type of pain – back, neck, shoulder, headaches, plantar fasciitis, etc. These are things I had a lot of success in treating. Now, as an acupuncturist though, I’ve found more effective and longer lasting ways to treat these types of pain. So in practice, while my primary focus is on treating various types of pain, I see patients for a variety of other things also. This is a holistic form of care, we can’t offer effective long lasting pain relief without addressing the underlying things too. So I see patients suffering from anxiety and allergies to Zieve’s syndrome and everything in between. I know my limits though, so I have consultations with prospective new patients prior to their first treatment to determine whether I can help or not.

I am a life-long learner. I can’t imagine there will ever come a day when I’m not continuing my education professionally. I’ve taken countless hours of classes of on dry needling, motor point/sports acupuncture, effective evidence-based Fibromyalgia treatments, neuropathy and that’s just this year (2018). When I’m not attending seminars around the country, in my downtime between patients, you’ll often find me at the front desk watching webinars and learning new treatment strategies from acupuncturists around the world.

I am very passionate about helping people find the most effective pain relief and wellness treatments without the use of pharmaceutical medications.
